Eco Escapes

Tips and ideas to help you enjoy a greener holiday…

If you’ve already decided to base your next holiday in the UK, then you’re off to a great start as eliminating air travel is a huge step to a more environmentally friendly holiday experience!

We have a few more eco-holiday tips to help you get the most from your holiday, whilst also being kind to the planet!

Location, location, location

How well do you know your neighbouring counties? There may be no need to drive for hours to reach your next holiday destination – we think you’re sure to find some hidden gems much closer to home! You can cut down on your travel time whilst still feeling like you’ve had a real break away and explored somewhere new.

Switch off, un-wind … and un-plug!

Why not take a break from your screens, gadgets and electronic devices? Enjoy a taste of the ‘good old days’… get back to nature and relax in the great outdoors, play a board game or read a book. Your mind, body and soul will love you for it!

Support local shops and eateries

What better way to get to know the area than by discovering the unique local artisan producers? Whether it’s the locally brewed beer, or freshly picked fruit and veg, or artwork created and inspired on the doorstep. The guest book should be full of recommendations to get you started.

Pedal power?

Why not leave the car at home for a day or two? You could hop on a bike, bus, horse, boat, or just see where your feet take you! You might find that you enjoy a different perspective of the area as you explore your surroundings at a slower pace. Check out the visitor book for inspiration.
